Who am I ?

I’m Louie.
I’m currently a senior at Shanghai Pudong Experimental. School, expecting to graduate in June 2026. For me, the joy of life lies in every moment of “hands-on practice” and “enthusiastic exploration.” These passions not only fill my daily life but also allow me to turn what I love into value that can be shared with more people.

I’m a total “sports enthusiast” – I often play football, basketball, table tennis, swimming, surfing, skiing, and frisbee. Among these, football and cycling are the passions I’ve stuck to the longest.

I’ve been playing football for 16 years and now serve as the captain and center-back of my school’s varsity football team. I spend 8 hours every week organizing training sessions and coordinating friendly matches with other schools. The communication and sense of responsibility in team collaboration are important lessons that sports have taught me.

When it comes to cycling, I’ve logged over 2,000 kilometers of riding since 9th grade. I’ve also completed multi-day cycling challenges like crossing the Yangtze River and cycling around Taihu Lake with friends. The speed and perseverance in the wind not only improved my physical fitness but also taught me to face difficulties head-on during exploration.

Beyond sports, I also embrace life with art and tenderness. I love painting – I use brushes to record moments when children at the camp build bread ovens. I also enjoy music; when I’m alone, I sort out my thoughts through melodies. What’s more, I have a great passion for small animals and insects. I’ve launched animal adoption campaigns and kept many of them myself, such as parrots, squirrels, cats, dogs, peacocks, rabbits, and stag beetles. In the process of taking care of them, I gradually learned that “patience” is the best way to communicate.

“Hands-on creation” is something I’ve never stopped pursuing – whether it’s woodworking, handcrafts, building Lego sets, or even making wooden airplanes and canoes by myself, every process from “idea” to “finished product” fascinates me.

I’m also passionate about community service. I once modified a second-hand go-kart by adding a wooden trailer; during the pandemic, I used it to deliver medicine to community residents and take neighbors to clinics. I also made wooden fitness equipment for the community and repaired the stone road at the village entrance, using my woodworking skills to solve real-life needs.

It’s precisely because of this passion for practice that I founded a youth camp in Chongming. I turned the things I love – like woodworking, handcrafts, and outdoor exploration – into experiential activities that more teenagers can participate in. I hope to help them improve their abilities through hands-on work, just as I’ve gained growth from my own hobbies.
