Night Sprite
This work takes the “owl” as its core image, and creates an “elf of the night” through the collision of black-and-white line drawing and blue-toned geometry, conveying a mysterious yet powerful visual experience.
In terms of technique, the owl’s wings and head are rendered with realistic needle-pen line drawing. Dense interlaced dots and lines accurately restore the striped texture of its feathers and the dynamic tension when it spreads its wings. For the abdomen and tail, bold blue-purple geometric blocks are used; through the splicing of sharp-angled polygons, it is endowed with a cold, crystal-like luster. This gives the “Night Sprite” both the vividness of a living creature and the unique texture of abstract art.
In terms of concept, owls have always been associated with the night and carry an inherent sense of mystery. The work transforms the owl into a “Night Sprite,” breaking the boundary between reality and fantasy. It is not only a creative expression of the owl’s image, but also aims to convey the spiritual core of “exploring in the unknown and shining in the dark.” It is hoped that viewers can feel the courage to break conventions and the poetic imagination of the profound world from this “Night Sprite.”
